A bit about me
I am originally from Spain and I spent a short time in Italy before coming to live in the UK when I got married in 1986. Prior to becoming a psychotherapist and parent coach, I had a long and varied working life, including working with vulnerable children. Originally qualifying in Spain as an early-years teacher I worked in an orphanage, a nursery and as an au-pair in Italy. Later prompted by my experience as a mother of a profoundly deaf child and a child with dyslexia and dispraxia, I studied psychology at the Royal Holloway University, London.
Obtaining the psychology degree broadened my interest in all aspects, and ages, of learning, development and mental health. Which then resulted in me working as a teacher in a special unit at a school for children with emotional and behavioural difficulties. I worked with children with a range of disorders from conduct disorder, ADHD, and Autism to minor developmental delay. In 2014 I qualified as a Hypnotherapist and a Psychotherapeutic Counsellor in (2015) and I has been working in private practice with adults with stress, anxiety, phobias, and other mental health issues.
It is because of my direct observations of the effect that childhood experiences have in adult mental health, I was prompted to prompted her to set up Mind in Focus. My aim is to provide psychological knowledge as well as practical help to anyone in need to overcome mental challenges or to support loved ones with mental health issues.
I work with each client, individually, helping them to find the source of their challenges and then find a solution that is right for them.
