A bit about me
(but written by somebody else)
Gloria is originally from Spain, has spent a short time in Italy and came to live in the UK when she married her husband in 1986. Prior to becoming a psychotherapist and parent coach, Gloria has had a long and varied working life with children. Originally qualifying in Spain as an early-years teacher she also worked in an orphanage, nursery and as an au-pair in Italy. Prompted by her experience as a mother of a profoundly deaf child and a child with dyslexia and developmental coordination disorder she studied psychology at the Royal Holloway University, London.
Obtaining the psychology degree broadened her interest in all aspects and ages of learning development and mental health. Which then resulted in Gloria working as a teacher in a nurture unit at a school for children with emotional and behavioural difficulties, working with children with a range of disorders from conduct disorder, ADHD, and Autism to minor developmental delay. Since 2014 Gloria has also qualified as a Hypnotherapist and Psychotherapeutic Counsellor (2016) and has been working with adults with stress, anxiety, phobias, and other mental barriers.
It is because of her direct observations of the effect of childhood experiences in adult mental health challenges which has prompted her to set up Mind in Focus. She is a great listener and is committed to helping and supporting parents, to promote good mental health from childhood onwards.
Gloria works with each of her clients, individually, to find the source of their challenges and then find a solution, helping them to make the most of what life has to offer them.
